3 shortcuts to getting a money mindset and bypassing the garbage

Learn three shortcuts to adopting a money mindset without confronting your past or getting overwhelmed with resistance.


Ignoring it doesn’t work.


Stuffing down your fears doesn’t work, either.


Money is a reality.


But it doesn’t have to be a chain link or a barometer of self-worth.


It’s just like a wrench,


A tool that you can use at will.


Why does this matter?


Making money is like a machine. It has a science that can be uncovered through planning.


This means it is within everyone’s reach.


So many have no money because their beliefs and traumatic experiences do not allow them to efficiently plan to make money.


If they switch to a money mindset without their past baggage, their problems with money would disappear.


Having a money mindset means consistently planning and managing the proper use and growth of your finances.


This looks like:

  • No limiting beliefs around money

  • Comfortability with planning to make money

  • Having moderate financial knowledge

  • Constantly looking for ways to increase value

  • Viewing money as a tool, not as an identity marker

  • Focusing on you and not envying others.


It’s simple, but this small list butts up against most of the limiting beliefs you were given as a child. Most of the social constructs you learned were in direct opposition to these principles.


To achieve this mindset, you have to change your actions, habits, and identity. Once you poke this hornet's nest, everything will fly up at once, which makes the process more difficult and discouraging. Working through all of those beliefs and moving forward can take years, sometimes.


But there are better and less tumultuous ways to do this. And I know you need results ASAP.


In this post, I will cover three ways to bypass limiting beliefs and hack your identity to create a money mindset.


Mantras


A great way to shortcut yourself to a money mindset is to begin using mantras. You can use mantras in your native language, or you can use ones in Sanskrit. These work so well because they use the power of sound to penetrate your mind and body and create lasting change in your thought processes.


Mantras are phrases that you repeat, or listen to repeatedly to help you gain the desired effect. They work to energetically change your mental processes and frequency. These work miracles in melting your unconscious apprehension and anxiety around money. Free from your fight-or-flight mechanism, you can begin to look for effective ways to make money that fit your lifestyle. You can use them any time of the day, but they work best when your subconscious is more impressionable. For most people, that means first in the morning, or right before bed. Before doing them, make sure that you do a 10–15 second visualization of what you want. This will put you in a good headspace and make the Mantra work faster. Also, make sure you say the mantras in rhythm with your natural breath pattern as you breathe out. If you are listening to them, breathe in line with the phrase you are listening to. Dr. Pillai of the Pillai Center says this will manifest your desired outcome faster, which in this case is a money mindset.



Meditations


Another shortcut to getting a money mindset is meditation. Meditation works so well because it allows you a chance to get a clear head by removing yourself from the external. By not being plugged into what you see immediately, you are better able to listen to your own wants, needs, and ideas.


Meditation is simply focusing on using mindfulness to train attention, awareness, and mental clarity. That’s it. Getting mental clarity is important because that is the only way you can overcome limiting beliefs around money. Practicing meditation will take you out of the reactivity and fear surrounding money. Gaining money has a lot to do with value, and by moving out of fear and reactivity, you will be able to properly access your skills and look for reliable ways to make money with what you already have.


There are three top ways to use meditation to change your mindset. A great way to use meditation for mindset is to meditate with healing or calming music in the background. This will deepen your meditation and help smooth out brain activity. The second way to use meditation for mindset is to meditate on the main concepts associated with the mindset. For a money mindset, this could be abundance, freedom, and satisfaction. Feeling the emotions of those three concepts will you much more receptive and more likely to act when needed. The third way is using Transcendental meditation. This is a specific of visualizations and silent mantras to quiet the thinking mind and allow your creative and expansive self to come through. This creativity is what is needed to get you unstuck financially and see all the opportunities to build wealth from what you have and how to make more.


Autosuggestion


My favorite way to circumvent mental patterns of lack and scarcity is Autosuggestion. It speaks to the subconscious mind on a deep level and breaks down the barriers to unite it with the imagination. By uniting these two, your identity is shifted into the person of their dreams with ease. It bypasses all of the frustration of affirmations that try to beat the subconscious into submission. Autosuggestion simply allows you to become the person you seek to be without forcing.


Tim Crouch cites Autosuggestion as the technique of planting an idea in oneself, by oneself. These ideas later grow into more specific and complicated results, but they all stem from one idea.


For a money mindset, an example of Autosuggestion could be “I am a person of great value.” Once this suggestion is received by the subconscious and imagination, you will have no problem applying for better jobs, or having the confidence to start your own business. Autosuggestion makes shifting identities a natural process.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind. When you are doing your practice, make sure that you are in a moderately peaceful state. Your subconscious will more readily receive the suggestion and you’ll get faster results.


The next thing is to make sure the suggestions are somewhat believable to our conscious mind. Make them with intention, but keep them vague enough to not introduce any resistance. The last thing is to allow yourself to receive the ideas and methods that come through your mind. These methods and plans popping in your head are the physical roots of your autosuggestion work. Trust them and they will undoubtedly bring you closer to your goal.

Up until now, we all have picked up hundreds of unconscious money fears along the way.


Don’t sort through them one by one.

From there, you will be able to naturally move into your money mindset and grow your wealth from your imagination instead of your limitation.
